Here we are now at 12 weeks and 2 days!! There is quite a difference compared to the last picture we posted. Although there have been some pretty rough days of morning sickness and some aches and pains from stretching, everything is progressing perfectly. We orginally started out with a due date, according to the last cycle, of August 24, but at 6 weeks, the baby was measuring two days ahead. Then at our last appt. on Feb. 4, we were measuring another four days ahead, which put us at August 18, then with the C-section at 39 weeks, we're looking at August 11th. Whew! That's a lot of progress in just a short time.While at the doctor for our last visit, I was informed that I would need to have a C-section to deliver. Needless to say, my heart sunk and I truly felt a huge wave of anxiety, fear, and loss. My biggest fear had become a reality. The recovery time is twice as long, I'm considerably older this time, and it wasn't how I had pictured this baby coming into the world. Admist all of this worry, my sister, Gretchen, had posted a passage on their blog about "Surrender". This is something I struggle with on a daily basis and I have finally realized that the only way I will come through this is to do just that, Surrender. I know it's all in God's hands and things will work according to His time, not mine. I have this word posted in my office, on my mirror at home, and on the dashboard of my vehicle as a constant reminder that if I can just surrender and let God do what He does best, all will be well.
